Out and About Program
Maybe when you walk your dog, your dog is overly excited and dragging you down the street. You’re frustrated because the first half of every walk is no fun at all! Wouldn’t you love instead to impress your neighbors with how calm and amazing your dog is while you’re walking past their house? You want your dog to be calmer so you can enjoy yourself on walks without feeling like your dog is trying to constantly get away from you.
And maybe you feel like your dog is just TOO much for your friends when they come over. And OH the jumping...no more worrying about that either!
You love the idea of your dog learning to relax on your walks and being super cool when your friends come over and you’re just hanging out at home. We’ll start teaching your dog to listen to you off leash as well, which is awesome since dogs spend 99% of the time off leash anyway at home!
But you would also really enjoy the freedom of taking your dog for hikes where they could run around off leash and be comfortable that they will reliably come back to you every time (even when the chunky squirrels run by!).
We’ll also make sure your dog consistently listens to commands like sit & down so you can guide them through many different social situations easily and calmly.
During our sessions together, after your dog’s initial training, we’ll work together so you can easily help direct your dog into making good decisions, relaxing in the world around them, so they are a joy to be around and you have the freedom to also enjoy the world around you!
This program is typically completed in 2 - 3 months and includes:
a two week stay for your dog at your trainer’s house
five Private Sessions with you to teach you how to continue and maintain your dog’s training
training kit (your own gift box of training goodies!)
teaching your dog to calm down & relax, walk loosely on a leash, not jump on people, counters, or anything else you don’t want their feet on
PLUS listening better around distractions and to commands like sit, down & “place” (to go to their dog bed and stay), being calm in their crate and listening off leash around the house, and out & about
one year of phone and email support
